Re-Root Canal Treatment (Re-RCT)
A second chance for a tooth that didn't fully heal after an earlier root canal.
Sometimes a tooth that had a root canal in the past doesn't fully heal, or becomes re-infected later. Re-treatment gives that tooth another chance before considering removal. Dr. Gulshan carefully reopens the tooth, removes the old filling material, re-cleans and disinfects the canals, and re-seals it. As re-treatment is more detailed than a first root canal, his experience with complex cases is central to the care here.
Re-treatment may help if you have:
- Returning pain or discomfort in a previously treated tooth
- Swelling or tenderness around that tooth
- A tooth that never fully settled after an earlier root canal
